Our snakes are housed in a shed in the garden. The walls and ceiling are insulated with silver backed padding, and it remains quite warm in the winter with a radiator. It is the occasional hot spell that causes me a worry. Even with heat wires, lights etc turned off, we can still get temperatures soaring up to 35 deg
I’ve recently tried an evaporative air cooler, running off 6.5 litres of water. It brings the temperature down by several degrees, and does seem to freshen the air up a bit. It’s certainly more effective than a fan, and is also very quiet. I’ve considered an air conditioner, which would certainly be more effective, but much more costly, both to buy and to run, and alot more noisy. I think we will have to run with the air cooler and hope for the best.
